To start off this year I wasn’t very experienced with doing annotations. I got accustomed to doing them very quickly though. My annotations made in articles we read were quotes I used in most of my papers. I quickly learned that annotation articles would lead to great papers in the future. My approach to annotating an article is to first just read the article to get a grasp of what it’s about and I’ll better understand the piece. I then reread the article and I jot down comments about the paper and also underline things that I find important. One of the things I highlight that’s important is credibility. As you can see in the first photo I highlighted the Kenji Piece cause this talks about how credible he is. this allows us to know whether the author knows what he’s talking about. In the second photo, I highlighted some information that would be important and help me write a paper. The paper was about shame and the first sanitation that was a key point that helps reflect what shame does to us. The last photo is a Dalai Lama piece I again did the same thing but in this case, it was relating science to ethics. The annotations here reflect the important aspect in relation to ethics and science. As you get better at these your writing improves cause you have better material to back it up. So, over the course of the semester, I think I did improve well on it.
